Kortex Privacy Policy (English Version) Version 1.0 Effective Date: March 9, 2026 Introduction The Kortex application (hereinafter referred to as "this App" or "Kortex") is operated by an individual developer (hereinafter referred to as "we," "us," or "our"). We take the protection of your personal information and privacy very seriously. During your registration, login, and use of Kortex, we will collect, use, store, and share your relevant personal information. To clearly explain how we handle your personal information, we have developed this Kortex Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Privacy Policy") and commit to processing your personal information strictly in accordance with its terms. Before using this App, please carefully read and fully understand this Privacy Policy, especially the terms highlighted in bold. What Information We Collect We collect and use your personal information only for the following purposes: 1.1 Registration and Login When you register for a Kortex account, we need to collect your email address, the username you set, and your login password (which will be encrypted). We collect this information to help you create an account, secure your account, and provide you with ongoing services. If you do not provide this information, we will not be able to create an account for you. 1.2 Creating Knowledge Cards (Core Feature) When you use the AI-powered knowledge card creation feature, you need to input some text prompts (e.g., topics, keywords, or questions you want to explore). We collect this text content and send it to our AI service provider (Volcano Engine) to generate the core content of the card. Additionally, the AI service will generate an introductory image for the card based on your prompts. We collect the text you input, the AI-generated content (including both text and images), to complete the card creation process and save these cards under your account for your future access and management. If you do not provide the input information, you will not be able to use this core feature of the App. 1.3 Browsing and Interaction When you browse knowledge cards created by other users, we may collect your browsing history to optimize content display (e.g., recommending cards you might be interested in). When you favorite, like, or comment on a card, we collect this interaction information to enable these features and enhance your user experience. 1.4 Security and Safety To ensure the normal operation of this App and the security of your account, we collect your device information (e.g., device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers), IP address, access date and time, and service log information (including pages visited, click behavior). We use this information to analyze App performance, detect and prevent abnormal or fraudulent activities, troubleshoot technical issues, and safeguard network and information security. 1.5 Customer Service When you contact us (e.g., by sending an email) with inquiries, complaints, or suggestions, we need to collect the contact information you voluntarily provide (such as your email address), a description of your issue, and any attachments or screenshots you provide to substantiate your request. This information is necessary to contact you and resolve your issue effectively. Without it, we may not be able to process your request in a timely manner. 2. How We Use Your Personal Information We use the collected personal information for the following purposes: To create, manage, and maintain your account. To generate knowledge cards using AI services based on your instructions and display them to you. To display and recommend card content relevant to your interests. To communicate with you regarding service notifications, security alerts, and updates. To analyze and optimize the functionality and performance of this App. To ensure the security of this App and its users, and to prevent malicious activities. To handle your customer service requests and feedback. We do not use your AI interaction data for model training or optimization. If we intend to use your information for such purposes in the future, we will seek your explicit authorization beforehand. 3. How We Store Your Personal Information 3.1 Storage Location: Personal information collected and generated during your use of this App within China will be stored on servers located within the People's Republic of China. Currently, we do not transfer your information overseas. 3.2 Storage Period: We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. For example, your account information is retained until you delete your account; the cards you create are retained until you delete them. After the retention period expires, we will delete or anonymize your personal information. 4. How We Entrust, Share, Transfer, and Disclose Your Personal Information 4.1 Entrusted Processing: To provide the AI card generation feature, we use the Volcano Engine large model service. To do this, we need to entrust the text information you input to Volcano Engine for processing to generate content. Volcano Engine, as our data processor, will protect your information in accordance with its privacy policy and service agreements, and we contractually require them to adhere to strict confidentiality obligations. 4.2 Sharing: We do not sell your personal information. Except as described in this Privacy Policy (e.g., entrusted processing), we will not share your personal information with any other company, organization, or individual without your separate consent, unless required by law. 4.3 Transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or other business reorganization, your personal information may be transferred as a business asset. We will require the new entity to continue to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If the purpose of processing changes, we will seek your consent again. 4.4 Public Disclosure: The knowledge cards you create within this App (including the text and images), along with your username, are visible to other users of the App by default. This is an essential part of the App's core functionality. You can withdraw this disclosure by deleting your cards. Apart from this, we will not publicly disclose your personal information without your separate consent or unless compelled by law. 5. How We Protect Your Personal Information We take your information security seriously and implement reasonable measures in line with industry standards to protect your information, including data encryption, access controls, and network isolation. However, please note that no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. In the unfortunate event of a personal information security incident, we will notify you in a timely manner as required by law. 6. Deletion: You can request deletion of your personal information in certain circumstances (e.g., when processing is no longer necessary, you withdraw consent, or you delete your account). You can delete cards you created within the App. To request account deletion, please contact us. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. Account Deletion: You can request the deletion of your account by contacting us via the methods below. We will verify your identity and process your request within 15 days. After deletion, we will stop providing services and delete or anonymize your personal information. Responding to Your Requests: For security reasons, we may need to verify your identity before processing your request. We will respond within 15 days or as required by law. 7. Protection of Minors' Personal Information Our services are intended for adults. If you are a child under the age of 14, please do not attempt to register for or use this App. If you are a minor between the ages of 14 and 18, please use this App under the supervision and with the consent of your legal guardian. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a minor without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information as soon as possible. 8.
